The WDMS was a product concept exercise initiated by Objx. The process started with choosing a recognizable brand “Yamaha” and creating the wireless home experience with an understanding of the brand essence. Using this as a foundation, a rapid ideation exercise and synthesis of consumer behavior and market trends to develop themes that allow the designs to emotionally resonate with the target consumer. Based on the Yamaha brand heritage, the music system design was inspired by the classical piano representing simplicity, elegance and high crafted quality. The digital music system with streaming audio capability became a natural candidate to introduce the wireless and high-end audio experience into the consumer’s home.
