Franke is one of the leaders in Europe’s commercial appliance industry. The intent of the project was to create a new design language to give the espresso machine fresh, innovative, and memorable aesthetics. The Franke project included two design languages “Bionic and Pure” for high-end espresso makers. Both designs must incorporate ease of use, ease of operation, and ease of purchasing procedure becoming an integral part of the user experience.
During the project, a series of three-dimensional volumetric form factors and sketch-models were created to fully understand the form expressions. As a result, the Franke iconic design languages were both beautiful and functional.
