The Android Smartphone project was a design language proposal for the second generation for Google g-phones. The goal was to redefine the first generation Smartphone products and introduce a language that appealed to young professional market segment.
Unlike most smartphones which target the enterprise market, the design language for the second generation g-phones emphasizes simple clean lines, monochromatic color schemes with vibrant color accent. An approachable, fun and energetic theme accompanies a high-tech feel. The “sandwich layers” aesthetic divides the mass and thickness of the phone and allows the product to appeal thinner. The UI screens were developed as a visual design exercise to show a new approach for the user to navigate contacts and other smartphone contents.
